You get one single-sided phenolic board with copper solder pads and mounting holes. It's size of 3.2" x 2.5" (8.1cm x 6.3cm) is specially made for the Arduino Uno. Of course this board can be used for any electronic project.

You also get the headers necessary to connect your shield to the Arduino main board. They are the perfect height for clearing the USB-B connector and great for stacking multiple shields.
Included is the 8 pin offset header which helps correct for the weird 0.16" spacing between the two 8-pin headers on the digital side of an Arduino. Stick this and an 8-pin Stackable Header on an Arduino and D7 and D8 pins will be spaced by a more standard 0.2". This allows you to then use a standard perf board stacked on top of the Arduino.
