Make Professional Grade Image Transfers

onventional house-hold irons can be used but are very limited in their capability to refuse toner to make it stick properly to the blank copper-clad board. Sure, you can make small PCB's with an iron of maybe a few square inches in size, but that's where the iron's capability quickly comes to a screaching halt. An iron simply can't impart enough pressure with just the right amount of heat - it's always a lot of guess work which is not worth the frustration.
This unique device imparts VERY high pressure with heated rollers unlike other brands that use flat heater plates without any pressure to speak of - those types of laminators do not work at all. This unit performs like a multi-thousand dollar "hot roll" laminator at an affordable price. The trick to all of this is that the manufacturer (GBC) externally heats the rollers by radiating heat into the neopreme-coated rollers positioned from heaters positioned 180º away from where the rollers touch each other, (eg. one heater mounted above the top roller and one below the bottom roller). This amazingly simple engineering trick makes manufacturing of this device inexpensive yet performs like the very expensive (upwards of $2,000) internally heated, large format hot roll laminators.
This GBC 9" laminator will make absolutely perfect circuit boards up to 8" x 10" in size and is also used to apply the Green & WhiteTRF films for making extremely impressive boards. (The "GreenTRF" is applied over the toner image to prevent pitting during the etching process and the "WhiteTRF" is used for making what looks just like a conventional silk-screened layer on the board and voila! one commercially looking PCB ready for populating and soldering. Strange as it may sound, making PCB's is now actually fun because it's so simple. The best part is that an entire double-sided PCB can be made in under 15 minutes! The only drawback of our system is that you are limited to a maximum board size of 8" x 10" and only single and double-sided.
TIA FEATURES:
Variable board thickness:
Insert any board thickness from .032” thickness down to super-flexible .003” flex. It is not recommended for .064" thickness laminates although if you must use this thicker board, it can physically pass through the unit. Because the board is so thick, it does require you to help the board through with a little push so the motor does not stall.
Hot Roll Laminator:
Externally heated rollers provide fine line heat and pressure simultaneously for perfect toner fusion. Never loose a micro-sized piece of toner image any more.
Fast Transport Speed:
Six seconds per inch. An 8” x 10” panel is processed in about a minute.
Works with other media too!
Works well with brass shim for chemically milling parts and of course it makes for a great laminator! What a surprise! |
